A team's position after the move is what counts. Making a move marked "hard caps" means the team can't go over that line for the rest of the league year. The Cavs are hard-capped at the first apron this season. Rules: NBA CBA, as summarized by the CBA Guide.

        Two-way

        3 of 3 · two-way seasons left with CLE

Two limits apply, and the tighter one wins: a player needs 3 or fewer years of NBA service to sign a two-way, and he can spend no more than 3 seasons on two-ways with the same team. Tap a player for his details.

          Exhibit 10

Exhibit 10 deals are one-year, non-guaranteed minimum contracts for training camp. If the Cavs waive one of these players before the season and he signs with the Charge, Cleveland keeps his G League rights (an affiliate player) and he can earn a bonus of up to $91,000 after 60 days there.

            Cap holds

Old free agents Cleveland has never renounced. They only count if the Cavs try to get under the cap. They don't count toward the tax, the aprons or the hard cap.

14 of 15 standard spots filled. Salaries: Capsheets for 2026–27 and Spotrac for later seasons. Bird rights: Salary Swish. Free agency: Spotrac. Option dates: Spotrac. Free agent year is the summer the player hits the market.
